The First Day of Summer
Today marks the first day of June and, for me, the beginning of summer.
At least according to the calendar.
Here in southern Norway, summer doesn't always arrive with sunshine and tropical temperatures. Today it's around 15°C, overcast, and the forecast promises rain for most of the week.
I often see plant creators on YouTube moving their Monsteras and other tropical plants outdoors for the summer. It always looks amazing, but it's not something I can do here just yet. My indoor plants will be staying exactly where they are for now.
Still, there is something special about this time of year.
The garden is growing, seeds are sprouting, and new leaves seem to appear everywhere. The days are long, the evenings are bright, and the growing season feels full of possibility.
And if the weather is going to bring rain all week, at least I get a break from watering the garden.
For now, I'll take the rain, the cooler temperatures, and the excitement of another growing season getting underway.
Happy first day of summer.
